Which foods have zero carbs? Carbs are hard to get away from, even when you intentionally try to avoid them. I wouldn’t recommend a zero carb diet long term because carbs can serve as brain fuel and are just as essential to health as protein and fat. However, it’s good to have a list handy this month of zero carb foods in the event you want to work them into your meal plan or find yourself wanting a snack. I couldn’t believe these foods were zero carbs. They’ve made losing weight extremely easy. That’s right, I am already experiencing weight loss and loss of inches in my first week of the slow carb challenge. I feel energized and my head is crystal clear. This is because I’m not consuming sugar, caffeine or alcohol. It feels great to focus on fueling my body for the sake of nutrition and not just for pleasure. And who knew zero carb foods gave so much energy?

In addition to this list, there are food items that have minimal carbs (less than 1, up to 2). Here are the minimal carb foods in case you need more variety.

  • Butter and Margarine

Sadly, you won’t find fruit on this list. But I think this list is long enough to keep you from getting bored and satisfying your tummy. Remember on the slow carb diet you are permitted a cheat day where you can pack in all the carbs you want, if you find that you are missing them. I’m surprised at how little I have thought about them this week.

Can you think of any foods I missed on this list from Reach Self of zero carb foods?
